You’re not Lazy - my book is now out!
Have you ever felt like you could one day be productive if only you would stop dragging your feet?
If you want solutions, but you’re not sure you’d even finish a book about how to stop feeling lazy (because THAT’S how easy it is to get distracted, overwhelmed, and off-track), then keep reading. I’m that person, too, but I’ve found solutions and ways to be more myself AND find success. I’ve written this book so that you can start to see that you’re not nearly as far gone as you might think you are!
In You’re Not Lazy, you’ll read stories and learn strategies to make things work while honouring who you are as a person. Come into my world as I teach you that don’t need to reinvent your life to start being successful.
~Lara
PRAISE FOR YOU’RE NOT LAZY
In *You're Not Lazy*, Wellman lays out a solid case for rejecting hustle culture and learning to love our brains for what they *can* do. Wellman deftly reflects the many questions, feelings and anxieties we have about trying to exist in an attention economy that pushes productivity at all costs. By challenging overly critical self-talk and building alternative frameworks for self-appreciation, *You're Not Lazy* is an engaging antidote to the grind.
Tracey Lindeman, author of *BLEED: Destroying Myths and Misogyny in Endometriosis Care*
If you're a person who regularly says mean things to yourself about how you don't get enough done and you're failing at life, this book will help you. Lara is incredible at being able to see what's REALLY going on and explain to you the ways you're actually doing ok, and then the shifts you can make in order to get closer to what you actually want. -Marsha Shandur, Yes Yes Marsha
Our different brains and bodies impact the way we connect with the world, and how the world connects with us. If you want to rest when everyone says go -- or forge a life you'll enjoy more, in small steps that don't require big changes -- You're Not Lazy will coach you with care. The book starts with reframing that moment you're on the couch binge-watching a show as being the best place to be ... and builds from there. Take it from a long-time client and friend of Lara's: respecting your energy, as she will show you how to do, will bring you and your community far.
-- Elizabeth Howell, science and space journalist
Yes to this. Yes to all of this. We need new ways of doing life and business that fit us and our neurodiversities and bodies... not hustling ourselves into burnout!"
- Leonie Dawson
I took away many great nuggets to mull over and consider. Sometimes I read over sections that resonated to really absorb the information. I liked the reframing examples, they provided practical support for changing perspective. The journalling prompts gave more opportunities to continue challenging yourself.
Turns out I’m not lazy, it’s capitalism’s fault for making me think that. -A
I recognized myself on every page. Reading it was one huge a-ha moment after another. It gives voice to the nagging thoughts in my head about how I work and why my "down-time" is vital to recharge. Getting lost in thought is NOT a bad thing, especially when you know how to go with it. You're Not Lazy is a wake up call and an invitation to stop fighting your natural rhythm and start enjoying the unique way you move through life and still meet your BIG goals. - N
I absolutely love anything that opens up my mind. Lara's Book does just that. She takes the task of unthinking 50 years of self defeating talk and makes it relatable. AND Lara is funny! This is an easy read that will leave you feeling better about yourself without adding 18 new things to your list. I can keep being me.. only without the judgment police. - D
